Here’s some background before we dive right in to the Rampant Rabbit review: I was living in The Flat when I got my very first sex toy: a Rampant Rabbit [imitation] from Ann Summers. Everyone was talking about the toy. It was featured in Sex and the City – the latest thing that everyone (women) was talking about in New York. Cosmopolitan magazine featured it. I’m not lying when I say, the Rampant Rabbit was everywhere. You literally couldn’t escape it. The toy was/is so iconic that it even has its very own Wikipedia page. I chuckled at that.
So, of course, I wanted one.
My Very First Sex Toy
For me, the Rampant Rabbit was the first sex toy to change the market for women. You could walk into a classy-looking Ann Summers store on the high street, buy the toy, and even admit to it. People were proud to have the Rampant Rabbit. The hype, for once, was real, and worth it.
I’d never owned a sex toy before my first Rampant Rabbit. I had to talk myself into buying it. Back then, online ordering wasn’t like it is now. The iPhone hadn’t even been released yet… and wouldn’t be for some time. I was still rocking about with my pretty-in-pink LG Cookie, with a stylus that was useless and a touch screen that didn’t much like my touch. I don’t even think that phone connected to the internet, and I didn’t yet have a laptop/PC. [Not long after this I had Telewest connected and *built* a desktop PC with my Pops.]
I walked into Ann Summers on the high street, with my head held high, and headed straight to the Rabbit area. Yes: a whole area. There were so many different models at that point, and even more now. Things have sure come a long way from the 1984 Vibratex original.
I picked up the “original” Ann Summers model: bright pink, with a clear panel at the top and pearl-looking balls inside. Nothing fancy. Not any of the other interesting models. Just a plain and simple Rampant Rabbit.
This was years ago now, so you can’t buy that same model anymore. If I were to compare my very first Rampant Rabbit to something on the market right now, I’d say this one: 4.5 Inch Original Slim Rotating Rampant Rabbit Vibrator.
The closest model to the one I have now is this: 4.5 Inch Slim Rechargeable Silicone Rotating Bead Rabbit Vibrator.

Rampant Rabbit Review
I have had six Rampant Rabbits over the course of twenty-ish years:
- Original Rampant Rabbit
- Replacement OG Rampant Rabbit
- Rampant Rabbit Thruster
- Another replacement Rampant Rabbit (original)
- A fourth replacement Rampant Rabbit
- Rampant Rabbit Curved Sleek G-Spot Vibrator [later addition]
I’ve loved all of them except the Thruster (but that’s another story for another day,) and the Curved Sleek G-Spot one (which took me a hot minute to get used to.)
Specs
As previously stated, I got my original Rampant Rabbit many, many years ago, so I can’t remember the specs etc. I also can’t remember the specs for any of its replacements.
I do have a newer model (obvs,) but Ann Summers no longer sells that one, either. The closest thing to it on the website is 4.5 Inch Slim Rechargeable Silicone Rotating Bead Rabbit Vibrator, but mine takes batteries and that one doesn’t. (Three AAs, and they seem to last forever.)
What I do remember about all of my Rampant Rabbits, however, is just how good the experience was/is. To say that my first time with the toy was orgasmic, would be a huge understatement. From that very first orgasm, just minutes into playtime, I was obsessed. I have been ever since. I’ve had at least one Rabbit-style vibrator in my toy box at all times. If one breaks, I immediately replace it with the closest comparison, he always from Ann Summers. I don’t think I’ve ever bought a Rabbit from anywhere else. I probably never will. I’m loyal like that.
I personally think that everyone should have at least one Rampant Rabbit in their collection at all times. Male, female, non-binary, it doesn’t matter. Buzz buzz, bitches.
Design
The Rampant Rabbit was designed to offer clitoral stimulation alongside vaginal and/or g-spot stimulation, all at the same time. It gets its name from the bunny-like ears on the front – the part that stimulates the clitoris.
The shaft usually has balls or mechanisms that rotate, thrust, twirl, wave, sway, or some other movement (different models offer different types,) and you can operate the bunny ears alone, the shaft movement alone, or both at the same time.
My very first Rabbit had rotating pearl-esque balls inside the shaft.
My current one has a wavy motion on the shaft, but without the balls.
The Rampant Rabbit Thruster had bigger metal balls that, as the name suggests, thrust up and down. You can find that review right here.
You can get ones that are designed to hit the g-spot at the same time (like the Sleek Curved G-spot model,) models for double penetration, small ones, big ones, stroking ones, rotating ones, textured, rechargeable, battery-operated, every colour you could think of…
I could go on for some time.
The point is: there’s a little something for everyone. Literally everyone.
(The Rabbit people aren’t even paying me to say this. I just love the toys that much.)
Settings
I can’t remember what the settings were like on my former Rampant Rabbits, but my current one has the following:
- Constant vibration – low
- Constant vibration – medium
- Constant vibration – high
- On/off quick vibration
- Slow to fast buildup
- On/off longer vibration (my favourite)
- Buzz buzz buzz buzzzzzzzz
You cycle through these by pressing the vibrate button.
I think (lol) there are three different shaft wave motion speeds, with specific up and down buttons.
The closest comparison from Ann Summers (The Original Slim Rotating Rampant Rabbit) has:
- 2 x shaft rotation speeds
- 4 x pulse patterns
- 3 vibration settings
I hate it when they try to spread the settings out like that. There are SEVEN vibration settings, including the ‘pulse’ titled ones. Tut.
As a side note, my original Rampant Rabbit wasn’t waterproof/water safe. Most of the models available now, are waterproof and safe for shower play.
Charging/Batteries
My very first Rabbit took four AA batteries (I’m sure.)
My current one takes three AA batteries.
The Original Slim takes three AAA batteries.
The toy is great value for money in terms of battery use, as far as I’m concerned. It doesn’t take long for me to reach orgasm with it, so it’s not in use for very long. The batteries seem to last for quite a long time, too. Even when I use my Rampant Rabbit every day, I replace them rarely. I even went as far as to buy my Rabbit its very own set of rechargeable batteries. They’re going strong!
The one thing I have noticed about both my ‘old’ and ‘new’ Rabbits is that the shaft movements often ‘steal’ some of the buzz away from the bunny ear movements, especially when the batteries are getting to the end of their electronic lives. Having the wavy or otherwise moving shaft turns the bunny ears vibrations down a bit. Not a lot, but it’s noticeable, you know?
Noise
I’m not gonna lie to you, folks; Rampant Rabbits can make some noise. The top levels of vibration are very vibrate’y, and the higher levels of the shaft motion often have some whir and hum to them. My old Bestie (and roommate) could hear the loudest settings in the room next door, but he didn’t have a clue when I used the lower, quieter settings on my very first one – up to midway on the various levels. The Thruster was even louder. Yes, I asked Bestie. I’ve never kept my mouth shut about sex… which is probably why I have the blog.
So, yeah, in terms of noise, you’re probably fine if you don’t whack everything up to the very highest settings.
Ease of Use
I think the Rampant Rabbit is one of the best toys on the market for the clit-to-cunt measurements of dual-stimulation toys. I tried a few Paloqueth models that did not get this right. My clitoris would’ve needed to be about an inch-and-a-half higher for those stupid things to work. I threw them out; that’s how bad they were.
I never have a locational issue with a Rabbit. The bunny ears hit exactly the right spots. The buttons are pretty easy to find; although, I have accidentally turned the vibrator off instead of increasing the buzz on a handful of occasions.
If I’m in a rush, I’ll insert the shaft part of the Rabbit, but won’t turn it on. I’ll just use the bunny ear vibrations to make myself come, and it works splendidly. On demand, jf you will.
I do like the shaft movements, but sometimes, it’s just too many sensations at once. I want that sometimes, but not always, you know? The beauty about this sex toy is that you have those options: one, the other, or both. What’s not to love about that?
Orgasmability
10/10 no notes.
As Advertised?
100% yes! I’ve loved every single Rabbit I’ve had [from Ann Summers,] and I don’t think there will ever be a time that I don’t have one in my toy box. It’s been my favourite, most reliable, most orgasmic toy since the very beginning of my toy journey.
Rampant Rabbit Review: Conclusion
I think it’s pretty safe to say that I have positive opinions about this Ann Summers toy, as shown by this very positive Rampant Rabbit review. There’s not a single thing I’d change about any of them, or add, or take away. They’re perfect. There are models and vibration settings for literally everyone. That one model might’ve been too big for me, but I’m hardly known for sizing stuff before I order it…
I think, next time, I’m going to try something slightly different from the range and deviate from my regular OG Rabbit style.
For now, consider me a fully fledged Rampant Rabbit addict.
Thanks so much for reading my blog today! 🖤
